Frequently Asked Questions

Do I need experience in commercial lending?
No, but it is recommended. For aspiring loan originators, we are continuously working on providing the proper education and tools, along with mentorship, to get you up to speed. Ultimately, having the drive and ability to learn will define your success.
Am I able to keep my own brand?
If you currently work as a commercial broker and own your business, you must operate under the CommLoan brand, as continuing with your existing brand is not permitted. However, if residential loans constitute the main focus of your business, we provide the option for co-branding with CommLoan. This arrangement enables you to process all your commercial transactions through us while maintaining your brand presence.
Where do I get the loan opportunities?
You are responsible for generating your own leads and pipeline of commercial deals.
Where are your lenders located?
Our lender network covers all states and includes local, regional, and national level direct lenders. The states we currently do not serve are South Dakota, North Dakota, and Nevada.
What is the compensation for loan originators?
Compensation is based on a percentage of an Adjusted Gross Commissionable Income. Ranging from 60-90% splits.
What are the fees to join Empower?
If you are brand new to moderately experienced in commercial real estate, you must take the Commercial Real Estate (CRE) course. It is a $1,000 course discounted to $500 and is run through Adventures in CRE. In addition, everyone is required to pay a $150 initial sign-up fee and an ongoing $150 a month for the technology package; this is strictly the licensing cost for the tools that you will use.
